He teaches accordion and chamber music at the School of Applied Arts in Castelo Branco and at the Music School of the National Conservatory. Some of his students and chamber music groups have won first prizes in national and international accordion and chamber music competitions. Paulo Jorge Ferreira is regularly invited as a jury member at international accordion competitions. He is co-author of the book "Modern Accordion Perspectives", which contains articles and interviews on the classical accordion, according to critics, by some of today's most recognised accordionists. He is artistic director of the Folefest Accordion Festival and Competition and president of the Folefest Association. He has been unanimously considered a leading musician in the artistic development of the accordion in Portugal.
